Practical AI literacy

AI Agent Lab for Teens

A browser-local course that teaches teens 13-17 to use AI as a supervised coworker: useful prompts, privacy habits, verification, school honesty, and human judgment.

For ages 13-17 with parent, guardian, mentor, tutor, or teacher awareness. Not for under-13 direct use.

Safety stance

Not a chatbot, social feed, or shortcut machine.

This first dev product is a static website and browser-local workbook. It does not host AI chat, collect teen accounts, store drafts on a server, or run tools for learners.

No hosted AI chat

Learners draft prompts locally, then copy them into a parent-approved external AI tool if an adult allows it.

No profiles or feeds

There are no teen accounts, leaderboards, comments, social profiles, or sharing features.

Local drafts only

Drafts stay in this browser. Anyone with access to the same device and browser can read them.

Human judgment first

Every exercise asks the learner to check privacy, facts, school rules, and final responsibility.

Course outcomes

Five sessions, five concrete deliverables.

The course is Finnish-first for learners and English-first for parents and mentors. It is designed for families, tutors, teachers, and workshops that want practical AI use without handing minors an unsupervised agent platform.

  1. AI coworker rules and a personal safety contract.
  2. A prompt draft that asks questions before giving advice.
  3. A product critique with claims checked against sources.
  4. A workflow map that marks where AI must not decide alone.
  5. An AI coworker starter kit with boundaries and disclosure language.

For / not for

Clear scope before anyone starts.

  • Parents of teens 13-17 who know banning AI is not a strategy.

  • Tutors, teachers, mentors, and workshops with adult facilitation.

Not for

  • Companion bot, therapy, medical, legal, or crisis support use.
  • Homework cheating, automated grading, or unsupervised tool execution.

Adult beta contact

Contact is for adults only.

Parents, guardians, tutors, and teachers can ask about the beta by emailing: education at hoitovirhe dot fi.

Email contact reveals the sender address, message content, and normal email metadata to the site operator and mail providers. Teens should not send personal stories, school details, schedules, photos, health details, or private family information.
